Play a Lusch Audio stream on a Second Life parcel
Set the parcel music URL so visitors can hear your stream in Second Life.
Reviewed · Follow the instructions supplied with your own rental.
Before you start
Have the supplied listening URL ready and arrange parcel music permission with the landowner or authorised group member. Start the live source, or confirm AutoDJ is playing, before the test.
Steps
- Find the listening or stream URL supplied with your Lusch Audio rental. Use this address, rather than your control-panel address or broadcaster login details.
- Stand on the parcel where you want the music to play and open About Land.
- Find the Music URL field, usually on the Sound tab, and enter your listening URL. You need permission to change parcel music; if the field cannot be edited, ask the landowner or group manager.
- Start your live broadcast, or check that your AutoDJ is playing, then enable streaming music in your viewer and press its music Play control.
- Check your music volume and ask another listener on the parcel to test the stream.
Check it worked
A listener on the parcel can enable music playback and hear the current stream. Compare the same URL in a player outside Second Life if parcel playback is silent.
If it does not work
- URL cannot be edited: ask the landowner or authorised group member.
- External player works but parcel is silent: compare the parcel URL, viewer music setting, Play control and volume.
- Only one visitor has trouble: test another device or connection before changing encoder settings.
Notes and references
Good to know: Menu names and music controls can differ between viewers. If the stream plays outside Second Life but not on the parcel, recheck the parcel’s Music URL and your viewer’s streaming-music setting.
