Broadcast from your Mac with Audio Hijack

Use Audio Hijack’s Broadcast block to send an application or input device from your Mac to your stream.

Reviewed · Follow the instructions supplied with your own rental.

Before you start

Keep your rental instructions and listening URL ready. Have the broadcaster, audio device and headphones connected before testing. Use your supplied credentials and encoding settings; the glossary explains the fields. Build a session that includes each source you want to broadcast.

Steps

  1. Create a session with the application or input device you want to capture, connected to a Broadcast block.
  2. Open the Broadcast block’s Setup tab. Select the server type for your rental and enter the connection details supplied by Lusch Audio.
  3. Choose MP3 and the encoding settings supplied for your live stream.
  4. Use Metadata to set the station information and track-title source you need.
  5. Run the session, confirm audio is reaching Broadcast, and check the listener stream.

Check it worked

Confirm audio travels through the session into the Broadcast block, then have a separate listener check music and voice.

If it does not work

  • No meters: inspect source selection, audio routing and mute controls.
  • Meters but silence: compare the encoder status and current listening URL with a separate listener.
  • A refused connection or login error: recheck the supplied host, broadcast port, source credentials and connection mode.
  • Distortion: reduce gain at the stage that clips, then repeat the listener test.
