AutoDJ playlist types and scheduling in Centova Cast

Choose a playlist behaviour, check its timing and test it before relying on it for a show.

Reviewed · Follow the instructions supplied with your own rental.

Before you start

Have uploaded tracks, panel access and a clear intended playing time ready. Check the timezone shown by the panel; do not assume it matches Second Life, your computer or UK time.

Choose a playlist type

  • General rotation: everyday music when a specialised playlist is not due.
  • Scheduled: a show or selection intended for a particular time.
  • Interval: repeating items, such as station identification, after a number of tracks or minutes.
  • Immediate: tracks queued for prompt playback.

Only use the options available in your account. The types and their settings are described in the Centova Cast playlist guide.

Set up and test a scheduled playlist

  1. Open Playlists and create or edit the intended playlist.
  2. Choose Scheduled if available, then set the date, time and repetition controls shown in your panel.
  3. Add the intended tracks, save, and confirm that the playlist is enabled.
  4. Compare the displayed schedule with your intended timezone. Plan a short test outside an important event.
  5. Listen at the test time and note when the playlist starts and what happens after it ends.

Check it worked

The intended content plays at the planned time and the expected rotation resumes afterwards. Record the panel timezone, playlist settings and listener-test result.

If the timing is wrong

  • Check the enabled state, playlist type, track contents and panel timezone.
  • Inspect overlapping scheduled content and the controls available for interrupting or completing current tracks. Do not assume every playlist starts in the middle of a playing track.
  • If the options are unclear, send TJ Lusch the playlist settings and intended time before your event.
